A Northern Ireland native with a love of carrots, I moved to North America 6 years ago in pursuit of the bigger picture. As a trained designer, I’ve been taught to look at the world differently. Ultimately, I am seeking to understand what people are trying to do, and help them to do it better. I think it’s this imagination for curiosity that has naturally led me to build my design career; analyzing and evaluating user experiences determine insights, that enables me to provoke disruptive innovation.
My wealth of professional experience spans the spectrum of Industrial Design, Graphic Design and Project Management – working within retail design and advertising. Immersed in an agency environment, I’ve had the opportunity to expand my creative mind while juggling numerous projects and constantly delivering the highest grade work in fast-paced surroundings.
Most recently I sought out to pursue the next stage of my design career, returning to Carnegie Mellon to complete a Masters in Integrated Innovation for Products and Services. It is here that I’ve developed my toolkit further, collaborating with inter-disciplinary teams to discover and challenge situations and opportunities that may otherwise remain unnoticed.
During my downtime I like to travel and get into the great outdoors, cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge or playing touch rugby by the marina, and I just recently traversed Route 66 on my move out West. I find these new explorations and experiences allow me to perceive the world through a different lens and keep me inspired and creative.
I'm always on the hunt for new and exciting opportunities, from freelance opportunities to working for game-changing, innovative companies. Feel free to drop me a line and to see where it could lead us.
Through translation and visualization of the brief, I develop solutions and concepts with multiple iterations.
Deciphering the world in a fresh light, I notice new things and identify opportunities through multiple observations and inspirations.
With the data collected, I gain an in-depth understanding and make sense of all the identified opportunities.
Determining constraints and criteria allows development of a distinct creative brief that frames the fundamental design challenge.
I get physical and create prototypes for testing and evaluation; failing often helps me improve and refine my ideas.
Communicating the chosen concept and delivering a product or service that is finalized, produced, and ready for launch.
